The territory where England and Europe reach the closest point is called the Dover Strait, an undefinable and ever-changing geopolitical barrier that separates the two countries. The Dover is a British Post-Brexit pub where architectural borders become tangible. A play of volumetric divisions, between masses and voids, allows the existing building to break the linear borders of the envelope itself. The project aims to give an architectural image to invisible political inter-spaces that separate populations when countries are divided and to restricted spaces that can instead unify them.
